One of the finest houses in the capital of Jamaica, Devon house. Built in 1881 by the first black billionaire island, he made his fortune with investments in gold mines in Venezuela. A superb architecture and interior with rooms where wood dominates. The park environment this house also has a lot of charm in the middle of this bustling city.

Hello Jean,
It is rather splendid this mansion and the grounds equally so. I like the point of view looking across the lawn with its parterres. Also, the light and beautiful colours. Very good sharpness.

Bonjour Jean,

L'étendue du jardin donne d ela profondeur à la composition. Les palmiers cadrent bien la maison. La prise de vue permet de voir les détails et les couleurs de la maison Devon. Une bonne gestion de la lumière intense qui ne nuit pas trop au rendu des couleurs. Bonne journée.

A beautiful house, impressive, restrained, distinctive, and built with a lot of sensitivity to the place. Even though it is so large, it does not make itself intrusive, and sits well in these beautiful gardens. I have often wished I could see the architecture of Jamaica, so very nice surprise for me to see this.

Hello Jean,

Indeed this is a finest house, do me think at the colonial time in Canada, through the Flemish and Dutch people hundred year ago, lovely architecture.
I like the nice soft colours also the sharpness and clarity.
Excellent composition and good presentation.

Bonjour Jean,

C'est une superbe maison et tu l'as bien capté avec ses jardins. Le ciel blanc n'a pas affecté la qualité des couleurs ni la netteté de l'image. Je suis toujours impressionné par ces troncs de palmiers qui poussent comme des colonnes de ciment.
