Photographer's Note
The view from Fort George looking down over Port of Spain and the Gulf of Paria as a storm approaches. The fort was constructed in 1806 and was thought to be impenetrable, but never saw military action.
From the left you can see the Queens Park Savannah which is an area of land left to the people of Port of Spain from one of the former plantations - also claims to be the largest roundabout in the world, and behind is downtown. In the centre we have Cocorite and to the right we see West Moorings and the outflow from the Diego Martin river - and right at the right hand side on the horizon you can just see the mountains of Venezuela.
This photo is a combination of 5 shots stitched together in PS Elements 5. A large version is available for more detail.
