Photographer's Note
One of the more unusual sculptures I have seen in the past year is this collection of what appears to be giant poppy flowers, with the seed pods made from real grenade parts. I have no idea where the parts came from. They function as lights at night. They're in a park beside the 5 star Europa Hotel in central Shkroda / Shkoder.

Bonjour Chris,
La prise de vue permet de voir les détails des sculptures. L'image est claire et nette. La bonne luminosité rehausse les couleurs de l'image. Bonne journée.

Hello Chris,
A stark reminder of past conflicts? I like the framing and colours and detail. The lamps sit well against the clear blue sky.

Hello Chris, your upward looking viewpoint helps us to appreciate the skill at the making of these interesting sculptures.
I like the way that we are able to see the sky through some of the shapes, which also shows the delicate pattern of the metalwork.
Good sharp quality.
Regards Jean.

Hello Chris,
I don't remember this monument. It's so unusual that I should recognize it if it had been there in 2009. Who knows what the designer had in mind? It's a very eye-catching photo in any case.
I was very briefly in Shkoder in 2004 and returned for a couple of days five years later. Like probably all of Albania it had changed tremendously in those years, from a dull city of neglected houses and dusty streets filled with potholes to a flashy and trendy city (relatively speaking) with modern shops and cafés. The modernization was astonishing.
Best regards,
Gert

Bonjour Chris,
J'aime beaucoup cette contre plongée. Elle donne l'impression d'une explosion dans le ciel. L'ensemble est lumineux et très agréable à regarder.

Hi Chris
seriously? Grenade parts? like real hand grenades?
you're right, this really is quite the odd sculpture.
it would be cool to see how it glows at night, perhaps it has a more elegant look to it than.
unique TE post subject wise
cheers

Hi Chris,
very, very creative and attractive, without title I would have thought it was some modern facilities!
Perhaps it would be even better if you raised the camera a bit and reduce the angle?
Regards!

I sure hope all those grenades are not functional! Very creative use of weapons of war, sometimes I don't understand how an artist mind work but they do produce provocative art works. Good pov and dof with sharp details. Well done, tfs.
