Shkodër or Shkodra , is a city in the Republic of Albania. It is the capital of the surrounding county of Shkodër, one of 12 constituent counties of the republic. The city is one of the most ancient cities in the Balkans and the fourth most populous city in the country and exerts strong influences in culture, religion, arts and entertainment of northern Albania.

Geographically, the city of Shkodër sprawls across the Mbishkodra plain between the freshwater marshlands of Lake Shkodër and the foothills of the Albanian Alps.Like most of the Dinaric Alps, the mountains are dominated by limestone and dolomite rocks. The lake, named after the city of Shkodër, is the largest lake in the Southern Europe close to the Adriatic Sea. The city is trapped on three sides by the rivers Kir in the east, Drin in the south and Buna in the west.wiki

A very nice impression of this town, the yellow tones of the mosque stand out well, especially in this warm light. The mountain slope and the light blue sky make a fine backdrop. The picture is well-composed too.

Pamietam ten meczet i noc spedzona w Szkodrze, gdzie nad ranem obudzily mnie dzwony koscielne pomieszane z modlitwa z minaretu.
Widze, ze miales duzo lepsza pogode niz ja, dobry pomysl, zeby odwiedzic Albanie w czerwcu. :-)
Fajne swiatlo i kolory, dobry moment w ciagy dnia na to zdjecie.

Hello Piotr,
Good presentation of this light coloured mosque with the steep hill on the background.
The lower part of the hill is still fairly overgrown but it is totally bar as you climb higher.

I don't remember this particular mosque, so maybe it is somewhere outside the city. I was in Shkodra very briefly in 2004 and then again five years later and was amazed at the enormous change in that short time. The improvement was astonishing. This is a very pleasant photo with fine light and colours and also a good view of the mountain.

Excellent composition featuring this modern looking mosque with its pencil like minaret. I like how the ridge of the hill in the background curves upwards across the frame. Very good technical quality.

I sort of vaguely remember this mosque and also took a shot of it. But I think yours is better with the bg mountain and warm cold color contrasts with the blue sky. Tfs!

miales bardzo owocny fotograficznie 2017 rok, zycze rownie udanego biezacego roku. To samo w zasadzie mysle o sobie: bardzo zadowolony jestem z tego co zobaczylem w tamtym roku i jesli tylko ten rok bedzie rownie bogaty to bede naprawde szczesliwy.
Atrakcyjna pocztowka z Albanii. Ten kraj nadaljest na mojej liscie. Byc moze ze kiedys przy okazji Corfu uda mi sie tam wyskoczyc...
Meczety nie kojarza sie az tak bardzo z Europa, pewnie trudno byloby zgadnacpolozenie tego miejsca.
