First lights in Berat, a photo from Berat, South

Photographer's Note

In the evening we went for a dinner in nice tavern on the other side of the river. From the terrace there we could observe the first lights in Berat. My yesterday picture was made somewhere between these houses, close to the top.
Albania is constitutionally a secular country, and as such, "neutral in questions of belief and conscience". The most-commonly practiced religion in Albania is Islam, the second-most-commonly practiced religion is Christianity. We can see it in Berat, where there are some mosques and also the Orthodox Christian churches.

Hi Malgo
looking at the larger Beta version, its funny to see how almost all the homes or buildings are pretty much the same.
its like a repeating pattern over and over and over sliding across the frame. I wonder why they did that as its not very creative, but whatever, its just an observation. the Bridge is interesting as well with the rectangular tall pieces at each end, trying to stand tall. also interesting to see how the city is built alongside the landscape. I wish I was here to have a drink with you as well haha

Hello Malgo,
A superb view of Berat with the footbridge in a good position. This city looks great at any time of the day and in any kind of light, I believe. The strong red and yellow lights create a peculiar atmosphere. The colours have a remarkable intensity.

A delightful atmospheric composition making good use of the bridge as a lead-line into the scene. Very well exposed to capture the mood. The warmly illuminated house make a pleasant contrast with the rather threatening grey sky.

I walked across that suspension bridge a few times. Stayed in the hostel on this side of the river. A wonderful late evening view with good sharpness and motion blurred clouds. Tfs!

Really cool photo with amazing colours. The orange and golden lights at some places in the town make very interesting spots of colours against the greyer houses. The blue around the river is also a fine detail. The town gets nicely surrounded by a lot of green. The smooth clouds make a good backdrop.

Reading your title I was thinking at the first lights in the morning and I thought you had already gone very early to that viewpoint.
Even when it are the first lights in the evening, the view is fantastic.
So colourful!
And a great overview of the wonderful Berat.
