Berat is a city and a municipality located in south-central Albania, and the capital of the County of Berat and also one of the world's oldest continuously inhabited cities. In July 2008, the old town called Mangalem district, was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

The seat of the municipality is the city Berat. The total population is 60,031 (2011 census),

Berat lies on the right bank of the river Osum, a short distance from the point where it is joined by the Molisht river. The old city centre consists of three parts: Kalaja (on the castle hill), Mangalem (at the foot of the castle hill) and Gorica (on the left bank of the Osum). Cześć PIotrze, MAm takie samo zdjęcie, też sioę wdrapałyśmy n samą górę do tego kościoła. Ale u mnie są małe odstępy między podróżami, nie mam okazji pokazać różnych rzeczy. Nieszmowite położenie tej cerkiewki. POzdrawiam z Cypru

Dear Piotr!
Nie ma to jak architektura sakralna na wysokich skałach. Jakie to naturalne? Ta symbioza przyrody i cywilizacji. Ale jak u mnie wczoraj zdjęcie "robiła dziewczynka w rzeźbie Mitoraja, tak tutaj zdjęcie "robi" ten zagadkowy sznur, tajemnicza lina.
Jest co oglądać, jest co oklaskiwać, więc oklaskuję.

Impressive the location of this monastery, anchored in a ledge of the rocky wall, the monastery looks simple, but highlights its beautiful dome, ideal environment with the rock and the bushes hanging in it.
Very beautiful colorful, in a few tones, very attractive.

Hello piotr,
Traditinally wew find many monastries in this regiuon, and elswhere, built upon high places and locations with difficult road to approach. Once I learnt that the reason for this was due to harrasments by local other religion populations and rulers.
The wire is a nice lead-line to the edifice, beautifully shown.

Czesc Piotr,
a wiec pojechales sladami Malgorzaty. Czy to ta sama wycieczka: Albania plus Corfu?
Podoba mi sie ten pomysl -troche zwiedzania stosunkowo malo znanego miejsca, objazd a potem odpoczynek na wyprobowanej plazy.
Bardzo ciekawe miejsce. Charakterystyczna bizantyjska architektura polozona tak wyjatkowo.
Ciezko to bylo pokazac bo troche w cieniu i swiatynia maskuje sie ze skalami ale swietnie ci sie udalo.
