You were not specially interested in 2000 years old ruins, maybe you will like the modern resort of Sarande better. :)
Sarandë or Saranda (from Greek: Άγιοι Σαράντα, translit. Agioi Saranda; Italian: Santiquaranta) is a coastal town in Vlorë County, southern of Albania. Geographically, it is situated on an open sea gulf of the Ionian Sea in the central Mediterranean, about 14 km east of the north end of the Greek island of Corfu.

The city is known for its blue deep waters of the Mediterranean. Near Sarandë are the remains of the ancient city of Butrint, a UNESCO World Heritage site. In recent years, Saranda has seen a steady increase in tourists, many of them coming by cruise ship. Visitors are attracted by the natural environment of Saranda and its archaeological sites. Sarandë has a large Greek population and is considered one of the two centers of the Greek minority in Albania.
Saranda is from the name of the Byzantine monastery of the Agioi Saranda (Greek: Άγιοι Σαράντα), meaning the "Forty Saints", in honor of the Forty Martyrs of Sebaste. Under Ottoman rule, the town in the Turkish language became known as Aya Sarandi and then Sarandoz. Owing to Venetian influence in the region, it often appeared under its Italian name Santi Quaranta on Western maps. Sarandë has a typical Mediterranean climate and has over 300 sunny days a year. During the summer, temperatures may rise as high as 30 degrees Celsius. However, a refreshing sea breeze constantly blows.

Hello Malgo,
As far as I can decide, Albania looks more modern on your pictures than I ever suspected. I probably had a very wrong idea of this country.
The buildings on the background do not look particularly attractive but your picture is very good.
I like its brightness, colours, composition and the predominant blue.

THis is a sunny and superbly composed picture , with teh umbrellas and the palm trees in the FG . Calm waters , blue sky , no crowd ... all to enjoybthis end of summer .
But I must say that there is too much concrete in this resort for my taste .

This does not look like the central area of the town I visited. But it looks almost sub tropical with the banana tree leaves at right and the palm trees. Good sharpness and well framed and composed. Tfs!

Hello Malgo,
Wow, what a view of the town built around the calm water of the bay, which makes the reflections of the houses mingle so nicely with the blue of the water. The resort is well included in the foreground, not only adding depth to the view, but also offering these nice repeated shapes of the many parasols. The colours of the photo are most attractive and well-saturated.

Hello Malgo,
To me Saranda was probably the least interesting major town I saw in Albania. Not really ugly but almost without any character of its own. But this is a good photo with a nice view of the town across the bay, nice reflections and fine colours. The hotel beach in the foreground loks like any other hotel beach in the world.

W Sarandzie mieszkalem nieco dalej od centrum co przy wiekszej ilosci ludzi mialo swoje plusy, ale trase do centrum codziennie pokonywalem i taki widok mialem po drodze. Miasto podobno zmienia sie w bardzo szybkim tempie , co widac po ilosci nowych hoteli. Ciekawa prezentacja
