Photographer's Note
A game of open air chess on a sunny afternoon in one of the main squares in Salzburg. I believe that it may be Kapitelplatz, though I maybe wrong. The photograph was taken through the far end of a telescopic lens from the grounds of Salzburg fortress high on the hill above the square.
Apologies in advance for the lack of sharpness, but I thought it worth posting for the atmosphere.

Hi Stephen,
Oh, a different and actually quite rare camera I see, an early canon the name of which sounds like a nikon ;-))
Nice summer view, it's busy, well exposed and the elevated pov helps the graphism of the chess game stand out.
Have a nice day JY

Bonjour Stephen,

Amicalement

Hello Stephen,
as I played myself a large one like this it is now a good addition to see one from that POV and distance. It looks so small and "unimportant", playing makes another thing. And the business around is a complete break in my eyes. Interesting scene.

Good shot with all the different people, milling round Stephen. Shame about the sharpness but as you say, still worthy of posting. The sleeping woman is funny as Mark pointed out. I also like the guy in yellow shorts and blue t-shirt who seem to be contemplating the chess game.
cheers

Hi Stephen.
This summer I visited the same place with two other chess-players. In my opinion white is going up to victory here.
