Photographer's Note

This building is the old palace on the corner of the Meir, Antwerp's main shopping street, and the Wapper, a small square off the Meir, which is best known for the house/atelier of Rubens.

The building dates from the middle of the 18th century and was built in neo-classical style.

These days the groundfloor houses a chocolate shop, I believe (not visibile from this pov, it's around the corner), not sure what happens on the other floor. I assume they can be privately rented for various business events. That seems to be the way things go these days.

My favourite time here was in the 1990's when there was a cinema here which showed art and classic movies. Those were the days!
