Dinant (French pronunciation: [di.nɑ̃]) is a city and municipality of Wallonia located in the province of Namur, Belgium. On the shores of river Meuse, in the Ardennes, it lies 90 kilometres (56 mi) south-east of Brussels, 30 kilometres (19 mi) south-east of Charleroi and 30 kilometres (19 mi) south of the city of Namur. Dinant is situated 20 kilometres (12 mi) north of the border with France.

The municipality consists of the following districts: Anseremme, Bouvignes-sur-Meuse, Dinant, Dréhance, Falmagne, Falmignoul, Foy-Notre-Dame, Furfooz, Lisogne, Sorinnes and Thynes.
Dinant The city's landmark is the Collegiate Church of Notre Dame de Dinant. It was rebuilt in Gothic style on its old foundations after falling rocks from the adjacent cliff partially destroyed the former Romanesque style church in 1227. Several stages for a pair of towers on the west end were completed before the project was abandoned in favour of the present central tower with a famous onion dome and facetted multi-staged lantern.

Hello Costantino,
This is a city I am not at all familiar with, but it looks nice enough. You captured well its location by the sea, and the church is very impressive. There seem to be some fine buildings further back too. It's a lively view with the people and the boats, and you placed a lot of fine flowers in the foreground.

Hi Costantino,
Very picturesque spot. I like the abundance of light. The colors got well pronounced with lovely flowers in the foreground and various flags in the distance. People walking the promenade add some life and the church provides an interesting tower with unique design.

I have been told Dinant is a really attractive town to visit, but I still need to see that for myself one day. A lovely view along the river on a beautiful day. The church and the castle on top of the rocks stand out particularly well.

The eatery is located in a very central location with beautiful views from several sides.
Nice view with the boats on the River Meuse.
The church tower and the citadel on top of the rock attract attention.

Such a steep rock cliff gives certainly different impression of this town than most of Belgium. It would be a great place to visit for sure. The church tower is quite special too.

A splendid shot of this under rated city in Belgium. I like the hilltop castle and the onion dome church facing the river. Good colour and sharpness and the al fresco diners and pedestrians animate the scene. Tfs!
