Anniversary TE
Since 15.12.2005 I joined as a member, to a site where I have experienced many beautiful moments, and many friends have left
Dear TE Friends.
It surprised me that intro texts are taken away without any explanation
My question is therefore, "WHY".
Since 15.12.2005 I joined as a member, to a site where I have experienced many beautiful moments, and many friends have left.
I have always tried to keep up to the rules, and to post photos from my country and region, so that many people have got to know a few Belgian cities better.
Always provided sufficient rules to encourage people to read the text, as support of the photo.
If not a professional photographer, his beautiful picture appeared on the site of my hand.
Notwithstanding my age, there is still very little, only at my age did I experience the university of years, and learned how the world works.
But in the last two years we see the regular people becoming less and less
What is left of TE is indescribable, members were barred without a warning, then my question is, when will I be cleaned up by the person in charge of the site.
I regret the way of working, but cannot do anything about it myself, these gentlemen have to realize that people who stay a member are good at it.
TE cannot deny that TE is dying after death.
Really regrettable.

Walking around Bruges.
You can see different restaurants in center of Bruges, no car, no carriages, only visitors on foot
The Huidenvettersplein, originally Huidenvettersdam, is a square in the center of Bruges. It can be reached from the Burg, via the Blinde-Ezelstraat, and along the other side, via the Braambergstraat or Rozenhoedkaai.
I hope that you enjoy it

Hello John,
Looks a lovely day for a stroll or an al fresco lunch. I like the oblique point of view. Also, the agreeable lights and colours. Clarity is very good indeed.

Hello John
A lovely summery shot that reminds me of my time in Nimes, where I ate mussels and drank local wine much like these al fresco diners. The Belgian waffles sound like a local speciality. I'd try them with icecream. Tfs & congrats on your anniversary!

Hello dear John !
Happy birthday to your 15th year at TE, with this wondefull capture from Flanders, taken on a nice September day. Very good ligth management and sharpness.
Some of my friends (including my own son and daughter) are cheating me that I do spent much time here at TE. My father who passed away meany years ago was a professor of physics here in Turkey. When I was a young boy he used to teach me with a unique sample : sharing. He sayed everything which is been shared gets lesser and lesser and at one stage they disappear. But there are two things : "Knowledge" and "Love".
You may share them as much as you do like. They will nat disappear but increase !
TFS and best regards

Hi John,
Congratulations for your thirteen years on TE, I enjoyed the pictures that you put on the site. You have captured well a daily scene happening in Bruges. The point of view is showing the details of the buildings and of people enjoying life. Have a nice day.

Hi John,
So nice to see such a summery looking view when it's wet and dark outside. Lovely old town square where people like to relax on the cafes. Good timing with those people coming towards your camera.
I5 years in TE, that's certainly an achievement!

Hi John
A beautiful relaxing place, great for people watching and hive of human activity to settle the focus leading us along the charming square full of pretty olde architecture. I love especially the feel of depth and perspective combined by excellent detail, colour and contrast. Indeed an invigorating sight smartly taken adding so much overall impression of the place. Excellent shot with equally useful description. Congrats

Hello John,
This photo brings us memories of a nicer time of the year. It's always welcome in the darkness of December. The persons strolling across the square or sitting in the cafés create a very pleasant atmosphere. The light is beautiful and the buildings in the background are very attractive. The photo is as usual perfectly taken, so I have nothing more to wish.
Kind regards,
Gert

Hello John,
Congratulations on your 15th anniversary of being on TE!
This is a beautiful photograph from nine years ago taken in glorious sunlight with perfect exposure, vibrant colours and, as always, stunning details and clarity.
But it is your splendid note which I find most interesting. Yes, many excellent photographers and members have left this website and over the years the technical aspects of the website have deteriorated making it far less user-friendly but I suppose that is because nowadays it exists to provide advertising space and is not quite so dedicated to displaying photographs as it once was. Unfortunately money now rules our World. I wonder too if Adam Silverman, the person who originally founded TE, ever visits this site - and I wonder what he thinks.
I must confess that I have not been as dedicated as I might have been because there are so many other things which take up my time, but I am sure that I shall never leave TE because it still remains, in my opinion, the best (and friendliest) site for learning both about photography and of the many different places and cultures on this wonderful Earth.
Kindest Regards,
John.

Goeden avond, John,

Hello John,
You've been on TE for many years, and I hope you'll continue for many more. This is another charming shot from Bruges. I like the architecture, the cobblestones, and the people enjoying the sunny day. Yes, TE has not been the same in recent years, but I really hope it won't completely die. For those of us who stay, it's like a home on the internet. :-)

Hallo John,

Hello John,
I read your notes with interest.
Yes, we have lost a lot of fine dedicated photographers, some because of their opposition to the rules that are applied, some because they have found other places to show their photographs and sadly, some who have passed away.
Though I know there have been problems, I still find this the best and friendliest place to share my photographs. I love to see where people have been and how they have interpreted their stay photographically.
Congratulations on your 15th anniversary.
I hope you will continue to treat us to fine photographs, like this!
The weather looks so glorious, especially when we are in the depths of winter's cold!
The setting of cobbled forecourt, attractive buildings and a relaxed, alfresco cafe looks most attractive, especially with the red parasols.
Your inclusion of the figures really enlivens the scene and I like how strongly you have captured the couple walking towards camera.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hallo John, that excellent daily life photo taken in summer shows the activity in Bruges center. The customers enjoy a meal or a drink seated at the restaurant terraces whereas other persons are just passing in the square. Fine colors, good sharpness, interesting photo note, regards.
