I took this photo on the occasion of the annual fair
Then a thought picture is handed out with all the deceased people of Maldegem.
My picture is the front page, I donate this to the parish for free
Not out of faith, but the love for our deceased 2019-2020

History Sint Barbara church Maldegem.
Recent studies on the building history of the church following the restoration sketch the emergence of the parish in the mid-9th century within the Fiscus Madlingem or the count's domain, with the donation of the patronage by Louis the Pious to the Bishop of Tournai. In 1027 the income was donated by Bishop Harduin to the counts of Flanders. In 1063, Boudewijn van Rijsel in turn gave the patronage to the chapter of Harelbeke founded by him. The first stone church building with basilica construction and a crossing tower was probably built in the 11th century. Chroniclers mention the building or rebuilding of a number of St. Peter's churches, including that of Maldegem, by Robrecht De Fries after his victory in Kassel in 1071. However, material witnesses to this have not yet been found.

I hope you like it
