Photographer's Note

Same autumn alley, this time shot from the opposite direction. You can see the Castle of Euxinograd at the back. It was a summer palace of Bulgarian royal family till 1944. The Palace is famous for its architecture, park and wine-cellar.
Architecture - Built after French Château de Saint-Cloud, Euxinograd is often considered to be one of the best examples of post-Liberation architecture in Bulgaria. After the French chateau was destroyed in 1870, Ferdinand bought the pediment of its right-hand wing for the Euxinograd palace (you can see it on the picture right over the main staicase).
The park - size of 80 hectares, the construction began in 1890, is a home to over 200 plant species from Asia, South America and the Mediterranean, said to be picked out by Ferdinand (ex-king) himself. The park is a combination of English and French styles and was finished by Eduard Andre.
The vineyards - the wine produced in the palace nowadays is thought of us one of the best in Bulgaria. The Euxinograd cellar also shelters very valuable 125-year-old French wines, preserved since the Liberation of Bulgaria.
