Photographer's Note

A view of the harbour through one of the fortified walls of the citadel encircling this walled city. I have added a workshop showing an unobstructed view which was obtained by going to the edge of the stone window.

Great use of the hole in the wall. The view of the harbour and the buildings at the foot of the green hill is very nicely framed. I wasn't very enthusiastic about the crowds of tourists in some of the streets, but seeing the city from the wall was not to be missed.

View from the old walls down to the small marina and the modern town across.
Managed well with the depth and the lit part contrasting the shaded "window" in the foreground.

Tu as eu une bonne idée d'utiliser la fenêtre pour cadrer la scène. La prise de vue permet de voir les détails des bateaux et des immeubles. La lumière fait ressortir les couleurs. Bonne journée.

Hello Chris,

I just imagined that this is how a prisoner might feel, gazing out through his prison window on the most idyllic of scenes; sunlight, yachts beautiful houses, and all that they infer and all that is being denied from this shadowy cell!

Hello Chris,
I don't remember seeing a picture of Dubrovnik taken from a similar point of view.
Nevertheless, this is a wonderful sight.
The different rows of boats lead us well to the huge walls, the beautiful houses and the green hill behind them.
Wonderful bright view in a strong contrast with the window you looked through.

Nothing can serve better as an appropriate frame for a photo than a natural frame like you found here and used for this attractive view of the Marina and the city.
Good addition of a photo of the same scene without frame.

Bio sam vise puta u Dubrovnik, ostao mi je u lepom secanju.
Interesantan i lep pogled, dobro pokazano sa lepim bojama, kontrastom, perspektivom i dobrim teksom.
lepa luka sa jahtama i kuce na obali.
