Photographer's Note

GRAČIŠĆE, a medieveltown of ancient origin, excitin history, rich culture and peaceful present. Even before the Roman Empire flourished Gračišće offered people shelter and a home. The name Gallignana dates back 2000 years from the times of the Gauls, whereas the Slavs after settling in Istria in the 6th and 7th century named it Gračišće. In written historic sources Gračišće is mentioned for the first time in 1199, while in the Middle Ages it had its "communal administration" headed by discrict-prefect, judges and advisers-elderly men. The traces of these times visible even today. The preserved medieval urban structure and numerous cultural and historical monuments are the reason why Gračišće has gained a status of protected site. By visiting Gračišće you enter a world of antiquities deeply rooted in westwrn European culture.

Hello Carma
a beautiful POV. i like the trees in foreground, making a kind of frame to the town. There is a strange atmosphere given by the light and the cloudy sky, but the red roofs bring some quietness. A well balanced composition.

Bonsoir Carmela, un très beau petit village en pierres avec des couleurs agréables surtout dans les toitures. On retrouve les même tuiles dans le sud de la france.

Well composed here (and in all portfolio). You provide a nice "tableau" from this place, the quality is high and I like the colors and depth to have a sharp view to the "clocher""

I prefer this shot although next was best. Going through ur gallery.
Good colors and nice view on those roofs with the church sticking out on the right spot in the compo. Fine idea to see it through those branches.

J'apprécie cette composition parfaitement cadrée; je constate une très bonne netteté qui permet de voir la texture des pierres.
Cependant essayez de réduire l'épaisseur de l'encadrement.

interesting architecture...kind of a medival look but there is something "exotic" in it...i like your pov throughout the leafless branches very much...i guess this scene would lose a lot in a strong contrast...so overcasted day helped to keep the nice colours the way they probably are...cheers, artur

One good thing about your photos are....very artistic...the way you took those photo where I can see that you have painting background. Textures such as bricks, tiles and dry trees are always the key elements features in your photos. Looks like you really understand the character of the elements. I like your tredemark.

carmela, i like the compostion, colrs and the framing. i think the cloudy sky made the lighting even better for the good exposure
