The lights of Porec, a photo from Istarska, Coast

Photographer's Note

This is the view of a part of Poreč, right after the sunset; the Vesper was already conspicuous. On the right you can see a small boat.
I would be pleased if you told me your opinions about the photo!

Poreč (Italian Parenzo, Latin Parens or Parentium, archaic German: Parenz), 45°13′38.18″N, 13°35′42.26"E, altitude 29 m), is a city and municipality on the western coast of the Istrian peninsula, in Istria county, Croatia.

Poreč is almost 2,000 years old, and is based on a harbour protected from the sea by the small island of Sveti Nikola (Saint Nicholas). The city's population of approximately 12,000 resides mostly on the outskirts, while the Poreč region as a whole has a population of approximately 17,000 inhabitants. The city area covers 142 km², with the 37 km long shoreline stretching from the Mirna river near Novigrad-Cittanova to Funtana-Fontana and Vrsar-Orsera in the south.

Hi Marton, The light is amazing & a top the deep blue hour looks stunning, the reflections is enchanting, very well composed with the church tower prominent, there is a little noise in the sky, however on the whole the photo is very good, I keep looking at the little boat & can not quite workout which way it is going but this maybe due to distance, kind regards Wilson.

hi marci... the street lights and their reflections look a bit harsh but the sky looks amazing also the belfry rising up to it... is that a star up in the sky?...

Hi Marci. Another masterpiece of night-time photography! I spent a holiday on the Istrian peninsula in the late 80's / early 90's (the summer before the war kicked off). Superb place and great people. Excellent "pivo" as well! Your composition is well balanced and the colours are excellent. The moon is really makes this shot special. Paul.

Hi Marton,

The sky and the wavey clouds are awesome! The contrasting yellow and blue make this photo shine. The thing I don't like is the blown yellow channels. The lights are too strong. What you could try is to make two pictures. One like the one you shot and than one with good exposure on the yellow street lights and blend these two photo. Regards, Gilbert

csodàlatos esti kép Porec-rol. Kituno nèzopontot vàlasztottàl ès kozben azon elmèlkedem, hogy noha szàmtalanszor jàrtam màr itt, mègsincs 1 db kèpem innen. Visszatèrve a kèphez, ami kifejezetten pompàs ès az egèsznek a lelke, az a csodàlatos szìnu ègbolt. Gratulàlok ès szèp napot kìvànok!

O think that the night shots are definitely your specials, u're very good at it and it's a miracle what u can do with your camera, I admired some previous night shots of yours from Hungary, but it seems to me that wherever u go, u make good shots:)

Egyszerűen remekmű! Egyetlen dolog kivételével, de előbb a dícséret. Fantasztikus színek, eszméletlen jó kompozíció, a Hold és a Vénusz látható, felismerhető jelenléte pedig mesterművé teszi. Őszinte grat, csodálva bámultam.
Amit talán másképp tehettél volna: a tömörítés során az ég becsomósodott. Ha ilyet tapasztalsz, próbáld ki a 3-6 fok közti "gaussian blur"-t az égre alkalmazva - nagy valószínűséggel eltalálod azt az arányt, amikor nem csomósodik az ég, mégis éles marad.
Még ezzel együtt is legjobb fotóid egyike. Baráti üdv Laci

This capture at the blue hour is magnificent, you have worked very well the exposure, and have chosen an excellent asymmetric setting, following the rule of the thirds, which gives a great result in the composition.
The luminosity of the image, the city illuminated with a few beautiful golden tones that are reflected in the water, and the colors, they give a great aesthetic beauty to the photo.
It is a great night photo, congratulations.
