Photographer's Note
This is a repost of a shot originally put up two months ago. Following Way's workshop suggestion, I've changed the orientation to portrait mode and moved the sun away from the center of the frame.
During autumn 2006, I lived for 10 weeks near the Jaegersborg Dyrehave in Lyngby, about 10 km north of Kobenhavn. The park provided an evolving visual feast as the days grew shorter and the temperatures cooled. One of my favorite sites was a small pond in the northwest corner of the park called Hjortekaer. This shot was taken shortly after dawn. In addition to the overall mood it creates, I especially like the effect of the small ripples in the reflection of the sun and also the reflection of the duck. (From a composition perspective, would have been nice if the duck was positioned a bit further to the right and also headed into the frame, but we can't have everything, right!)

Of course, the composition is great, and the colours are gorgeous. And thanks to the duck...

Magnificent, ethereal, layers of pastel colours and air... and then the duck, crisp, sharp, even the little ripples around it.

Hi William,
good sunset, nice mood due to the mist lifting off the water, great idea to include the duck.

Hi William,
I do think this is better, but perhaps I'm bias. Actually it's an option. I some times crop the same shot many ways and presented them all, people thought I took it many times. The great thing about digital image. I do also shot the many times the same location more land, more water, more to the left more to the right, Zoom in more. and I delete the one I like least. It's a good exercise.
Have a good weekend William.

Hello William,
this is really great!
The sun setting reflected on the lake with that single duck makes a charming composition but what it's best is the atmosphere created by those shades of warm pastel colors. I went to see the original but I couldn't find it, that means this one substituted the other...
Romantic Denmark as I've never seen it!
Really well done,
Donato

Hi William.
The light and the exposure is fantastic.
Maybe I would have cropped the composition and I would do a square format.
Regards.

Hi William,
Well captured this soft and warm light, superb reflection on water and good detail with lonely duck.

Hi William. The mood is the thing here. Stillness, harmony of colour and light. As for cropping etc, I like the original more, but then to each his own. I find this version too much biased to the left-and we can't have that.Nice work, regardless.Klaudio.
