Photographer's Note

I have posted several photos of Tallinn from our cruise, but most have been rooftops and harbors. This was a bit of a last minute thought when I was taking the other pictures and I noticed the several large cruise ships in the background. I believe there were three or four ships while we were there.

Tallinn is the capital and largest city of Estonia. It is situated on the northern coast of the country, on the shore of the Gulf of Finland. From the 13th century until 1918 the city was known as Reval. It has a population of 440,950. Tallinn was founded in 1248, but the earliest human settlements are over 5,000 years old, making it one of the oldest capital cities of Northern Europe.

Tallinn's Old Town is one of the best preserved medieval cities in Europe and is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

This was my second visit there, and I would go back tomorrow.
