Photographer's Note
Another glimpse of the spectacular phenomenon known as a "Sun Pillar". It happens just as the last rays of light hit ice crystals suspended in the atmosphere.

Hello David,
Sunset tones were very attractive from your photo's thumbnail but here is an unusual sun pillar as a great effect of weather condition by atmosphere. Dark silhouettes and sky with clouds are very beautiful. Congratulations.
Best Regards,

Hi David,
I like this effect of the Sun Pillar, and the beauty of the light and the colors of the sunset, very well caught in this composition.
There is an excellent contrast between the sky, the dark silhouettes of the forest and the snow in FG.
It is a beautiful photo, and has a splendid graphism.
Friendly regards,
Josep

Sunset pictures can are very specatular as this image.
I find the slihouttes of the pinetrees as one cockscomb against the yellow/pink sky very nice.
Very well composition and nice presentation too.

Hi David. This is a phenomenon we don’t get here, well at least I haven’t see it. (Yet) Nice capture. Excellent colours and good sharpness. The clouds add that finishing touch. Thanks for sharing.
Cheers, Paul.

Hi, David,
this is incredible. Marvelous warm color and the sharpness is perfect. The clouds are a really nice part of the whole scene and I like just the hint of detail you can see in the foreground. Lovely shot and a good Trekearth image. Well done!! Thanks and warm regards,
Shelly
