Photographer's Note

The last lake during my late September hike, when I visited also lakes Urja and Valkialampi, was Orajńrvi lake. I had earlier visited it a couple of times, always from the western side though. This time I came from east after visiting Urja. It is one of the middle size lakes in Nuuksio Lake Uplands and most of its area are within the national park. It is somewhat irregularly shaped with several bays and spits. Its length is 790 metres and the largest width is 600 metres. I have always felt a sense of wilderness when visiting this lake, as if it were in the middle of nowhere. The lake is surrounded by pine forest, but a few birches grow here and there and enlightened the landscape with their autumnal colours on that sunny day.
More about Nuuksio here.
