Photographer's Note

The pyramid on the courtyard of the Louvre. The famous architect Ieoh Ming Pei was charged by President Francois Mitterrand in 1983 to enlarge the Louvre-Museum with a new entrance-hall. A two-storey underground entrance area was built and on top of it a pyramid of glass. The pyramid is 24 metres high and has got proportions like the egyptian ones.
