Photographer's Note

This image of the River Seine was taken from the Eiffel Tower's lower observation deck.

You can also see the "Île aux Cygnes" (Island of the Swans) which is an man-made island formed in 1827. The narrow island is 2,789 ft long and 36 ft wide at its widest point. A beautiful tree-lined path, called "Allée des Cygnes" (Alley of the Swans), runs the length of the island.
