Photographer's Note

The Musée JACQUEMART-ANDRE is one of the so-called hidden gems of Paris. Not that it doesn't see its fair share of visitors, it's just not one of the obvious places to go to first.

The museum is home to a relatively small, but wonderful collection of art, including some really fine Italian paintings from the Renaissance. And then there is the magnificent urban palace with period furniture, grand staircases and...oh what a ceiling!

PS: Nowadays a superb Botticelli draws a larger than usual crowd to this splendid museum.

Een schitterende foto van dit plafond met prachtige schilderingen en andere gouden decoraties. De belichting is uitstekend en de wanden zorgen voor een goede omlijsting.

Ik weet dat dit geen makkelijk houding is om een foto van het plafond ye maken.
De schilderijen zijn mooi scherp in vergrote versie.

Hallo Benny,
Inderdaad prachtige schilderingen op het grote plafond.
Mooi dat je niet enkel het plafond toont maar het ook goed inlijst met het bovenste gedeelte van de muur.
Het gebouw op zich zal eveneens schitterend zijn.

it is ever special when we discover a hidden gem like this, the very famous places lost part of its charm because the images we can see of them frequently. excellent this image showing the beauty of this ceiling. in my last trip I saw many artistic ceilings in the old colonial towns of central brazil, of course very rustic, because they were places very far from european civilization, whose culture they wanted to imitate.
