Always in St Riquier's abbey, this statue of Joan of Arc is in one of the numerous chapels, situated around the choir.
Picardy has no glorious role in its fate, because Joan was arrested next to Compiègne. Picardy's cities received her not as a heroin, but as captive of the English.

I like this photo, because of the lighting effect on the wood, and the fact that the glance of the statue goes towards this light what reminds us the catholic fervour of Joan of Arc.
