Photographer's Note

Continuation of photos taken during my autumn hikes in the Pyrenees mountains ... We change valley with here a valley steeped in the heights of Cauterets. A mountain road that winds between slopes adorned with superb autumn hues, that was last month.
For the rest of my series, there will be a few more comparative photos with the same POVs, taken in autumn and winter …

I think autumn colour is not at full swing it seems but this certainly makes a fresh combination. What a delightful image, good lead in to the image with that winding road - really invites you to walk-drive through the scene. Delightful image blessed with light and some wonderful shadows, Congrats

Bonjour Jean,
very well used motif of the road here. You have well captured the autumnal ambiance here with so many colors of the trees. The road makes a lovely turn passing the bridge and it leads the eye to the further part of the valley with high mountains emerging in the distance.
The cold bluish mountains in the distance contrast with the warmly lit world in the foreground.

La courbe de la route envoie mon regard au loin ce qui donne de la profondeur à la composition. La prise de vue permet de voir les détails des arbres et des montagnes. La lumière met en valeur les couleurs de l'image. Bonne journée.

Bonjour Jean,

The mixed colours of autumn make this a most appealing scene. I like how the curved road acts so well as a guide, leading us into the mixture of vegetation. The steep slope, covering 2 thirds of the frame is full of interest, both in colours and textures!

Hi Jean,
That is just amazing landscape. This time we are down in the valley looking up the slopes. I like how those fir branches frame the blue sky. There seem to be all the colours of autumn in one place.

To enjoy the stunning view like that....what a way to do it , of course by 'hiking'. If only I'm fit like you :-)
Well, it's also nice driving around the mountain winding roads between an autumnal slopes like this picture - is a divine experience to see the ever changing colours right in front of our own eyes.
I think this is the most beautiful part of France - the Pyrenees mountains. And it's not far from here too.

A very good point of view making good use of the road; I want to follow it and see where it leads me.

Hi Jean.
What a wonderful landscape, the great variety of tones and colors of autumn are formidable, how much I would have liked after such a stupid summer, to have made a little trip through the Pyrenees in Sept./Oct. But the Covid does not give us truce, this year it has been lost without any trip.
Sharpness, lighting, color and magnificent composition; all are perfectly realized factors in this beautiful image.
