Photographer's Note

This is another sight in Plaisance (Gers) - Gascogne.
In the far distance you can see some rolls of straw.
I like the landscape with this reaped field and lonely tree.

In WS you can see a black&white version (suggestion of KAJ)

Superb landscape. Rolls of straw are common enough on TE these days but this one draws eye because of that lovely tree and the yellow field. Well Done!

Dag Luc,

rustgevend, zeer evenwichtige compositie. Geeft ook een goed beeld van de Gers als streek (ben er een keer bij vrienden op bezoek geweest).

Dag Luc,

De boom plaatsen aan de rand van de foto is zeker al een goot pluspunt, tesamen met de rollen stro en de goud gele kleur maakt van uw foto een pareltje Luc, een klein beetje aandacht voor de korrel in de hemel, pasop Luc dit is geen kretiek maar opbouwen naar de toekomst!

Bonjour Luc,

This is my favourite of your straw series. I think perhaps because there is more of the scenery. I would have been tempted to crop away a little more of the top of the sky, because I think there is just a little too much white at the top, which is a little too bright as well. Nevertheless, I still like your picture...I find it very difficult to take scenic photographs as I never know what to focus on. I also think this would look great in black and white...

de eenzame boom (kon ook je tittel geweest zijn) met die kleintjes langzij over het mooi geel stoppelveld end de rollen hooi aan de horizont tegen een fijne blauwe lucht.

Dit is meer een 'boom alleen'-photo geworden.
Ik hou van dit soort fotos.
De lucht bovenaan is een beetje overbelicht. In je workshop heb je dat stuk dan ook weggeknipt. Maar in de wit-zwart versie mis ik toch een beetje contrast. Ik heb dan ook een WS gemaakt waarin ik bovendien de hemel een beetjew donkerder gemaakt heb.

forgive me, I was sure that I've rated this photo, but...
... wonderful composed and beautiful colours, but (sorry again) I preffer the WS version. I think that the B/W gives to this picture an extra dimension. It appears like it was found in your gradnfather's old picture book and it emanates very romantic feelings.

Hi Luc,
While the B&W conversion came out really well, I really like the greens and golds of the fields and trees against the excellent colors of the cloudfilled sky. I like the framing iith the sharp detail of the mown hay, the rolls of straw on the horizon, and beautiful tree that is balaced by the cluster of trees to the right. Detail is excellent throughout. I think this is the best of your straw series.

I love the rural view to show the hay rolls in a wider setting. I find the light and colours very attractive so didn't expect to like the B&W conversion. However, I do find it has an appeal, though I must say I prefer the colour version.

oh this photo reminds me so much of the summer that is irreversibly away...it has such a beautiful, calm and quiet atmosphere of a lazy summer afternoon, I can almost here the flies buzzing...well done!
