Photographer's Note

A photo of the old town in Grenoble with the backdrop of the high Alpine Belledonne range.

Grenoble is a lively city in the northern French Alps. A city with a population of over 400,000 in the Grenoble area and with a large amount of research industry as well as huge student population.

Grenoble is situated at 220 metres, and is surrounded by three mountain ranges. To the north, the Chartreuse, to the south-west, the Vercors tower above the city. The Chartreuse and the Vercors are known as the pre-Alps.

The Belledonne can be found to the east, and this Alpine range towers above the city to over 2950 metres.

This is a different version of a similar shot I posted, and this time using the wider shot. No post-processing other than resizing.
