A40 road view, a photo from Rhone Alpes, South

Photographer's Note

The view along the A40 road to Chamonix.

The ridge is part of the Aiguille Rouge just north to Passy National nature reserve, though I cannot specify the precise spot where taken, the massif-park general direction is at 45.96, 6.63 on the map.
Picture taken through the bus-window with my spare camera on our visit on 06/2012 to Northern Italia, Switzerland and France.

Hello Ike,
Rough bare rock walls are nicely interspersed with overgrown slopes.
Some peaks are also completely overgrown.

Hi Ike,
A good view of classic mountain scenery. There is even a waterfall on the left. The foreground is a bit blurred, but that often happens when you take a photo from a moving bus. The waterfall is the Arpenaz Falls, and the mountain at the back is Aiguille Rouge. The site is close to Sallanches. I have a photo of the this area in my France gallery.

Hello Ike,
I looked closely at this photo and found that only the area nearest to the read is notably blurred. That is a good result for a photo taken from a moving vehicle. Most of the view is remarkably sharp and clear and gives us a good idea of the impressive grey peaks rising from the green surroundings.

The wideness of the area is giving depth to the composition. The point of view is showing the details of the mountains. The light is giving good colors output. Have a nice day.

It silhouette of the mountains against the blue sky makes your picture attractive

Hello Ike,

You did well to capture a scene so sharply, through a bus window. I tried a couple of years ago, when we travelled through the French Alps; the views were incredible but the sharpness not always so good.

very impressive panorama, pleasant natural colors under nearly spotless blue sky.
That is a great quality especially taken from the bus window. May be at the bottom part we see some effect of movement. Beautiful souvenir of your trip. In that moment I was just having a little baby to take care of...

A beautiful landscape with these rugged rock mountains, although in the background we see wooded slopes, a beautiful day with a clear sky.

A very beautiful mountain landscape with a nice mix of green slopes and steep, rocky cliffs, all seen underneath a nice, blue sky. Some clouds added a nice pattern of shadows as well.
