Hello Jean,
The chaffinch was my favourite bird when I grew up in the countryside. I don't see it often in the city, but I am always happy the few times I notice one. You captured this one well from two angles and in a fine light. We clearly see it is busy trying to attract a mating partner.

Well done!
Birds are not easy to photograph, forever moving when you just have them in focus but these are fine captures of the male chaffinch.
I can hear them singing in my garden, too. His song is very recognisable! We were always taught that the chaffinch's song is like a fast bowler in cricket, he takes a long run and then finally pitches the ball. Just listen next time and see if you can imagine the song as a bowler.

Les branches cadrent bien l'oiseau. La prise de vue permet de voir les détails du Pinson des arbres. La lumière fait ressortir la beauté des couleurs. Bonne journée.

Yes indeed this is a male chaffinch and I remember how beautifully they sing. The male has more colorful plumage than female as usually with birds. Great collage of photos showing it from two angles.

Bonjour Jean,
Sur les deux photos, nous voyons les pinsons chanter à pleine poitrine.
La couleur du plumage sur la poitrine semble être différente.
Excellente présentation entre les branches et avec un ciel bleu en arrière-plan.

Two excellent and sharp photo of this lovely bird, which is clearly singing very loudly here. The warm colours of its feathers stand out so well from the blue sky as well.
