With the cold weather comes a mist that plays with the urban landscape of Lyon and it creates atmospheres such as this one, around the footpath of Saint-Georges. This footpath links the Ainay area to the old Lyon.

Tu as saisi là une magnifique ambiance, bravo.
La brume enveloppe l'endroit de beaucoup de douceur, tout semble s'être arrêté, le temps est suspendu... comme cet oiseau superbement figé.
Une image vraiment délicate, beau travail.

Lovely and tranquil atmosphere. I like the view as seen through the soft light reflecting off the mist. The bird adds dynamism to the calmness.

Hi Philippe,

A nice mood created with an almost moontone colour setting. But the image also speaks of serenity and peace. A classic setting, but still very nice to see....very peaceful, very nice.

et bien bravo pour cette photo. Je la mets dans mes favorites car je trouve l'ambiance excellente. On dirait une ville désertée suite à une cataclysme et en même temps je trouve une certaine douceur dans ces teintes. Et puis le titre est bien trouvé. Bravo.

there's something oriental in this scene. the smooth shapes, just few lines, minimum of colour - all that creates very ascetic image that I like a lot. the black silhouette of the bird in the lower left corner is a great accent, very nice work.

great mood! That bird flying by, the bridge, these grey, but somehow strong tones. Gotta love this one! The scene is well exposed and I really like the reflections on the water here. Very good work, I like it a lot!

Hi Philippe,
Very moody scene, putting us into a serene painting of subtle tones in duochrome of an empty city. The reflections on the river, the tiny people crossing the bridge, and the lonely bird make for some nice details to the funelled shape of the river margins. If the bird were in the illuminated area of the river, the scene would be even more impacting, but it’s perfect as it is.

Hi Philippe. I came to your gallery after reading a critique you left on an early morning Nile shot by Izzet Keribar. This image of yours has a similar softness and atmosphere to it, although I see you have decided on the more traditional symmetrical approach. The bird in the bottom left is a nice touch (pity it wasn't in the lighter area though). Cheers . . . David

Despite the atmospheric mist there is a very pleasant light on the scene. There is also an attractive symmetry with the bridge and its reflection. The bird near the left corner is a wonderful addition to the image. Very serene and peaceful!

Hi Philippe,

Very beatiful picture. The mist adds a totaly diferent mood to this place, we do not dough that it was a cold day. You goot a rich reflection and nice details in very dificult shooting conditions. The flyong dove on the lower left adds a nice touch to the composition.

Poésie, finesse, délicatesse sont au RV dans cette image avec cet étrange éclairage et ce pont si léger.
L'oiseau est la cerise sur le gâteau pour faire vivre ce lieu glacé.

Very very good photo. You can sell it to a postcard maker of Lyon because it's a great and stylish photo. The flying bird is crucial for its success because it increases the depth of the scene. But the foggy atmosphere... What an ambiance!

There is a great atmosphere indeed with that misty softness. The shot is nicely balanced with trees and buildings on either side, and I like that we can just make out some tiny people crossing the bridge. Of course the bird is a great detail too for this tranquil shot.

This one is wonderful. It was the moodiness of the setting what attracted me to have a closer look.
Well balanced composition; just like I like them. The reflections on the water, the quality of the colour and those 'strokes'... are to die for.
