Photographer's Note
My first picture in 2010.
Thanks to this nice blue sky I took this photograph of Sainte-Croix Cathedral
This point of view began to be disrupted by the construction of the 2nd line of the sumptuary tramway project that will cost over 350 million Euros while the cost of 300 million Euros has not finished being paid for the first line who was inaugurated in november 2000.
A sumptuary project ?
Indeed the second line is the most Tramway expensive project in France.
For a town of 166,000 inhabitants and an agglomeration of 277,000 inhabitants was it really necessary?
In my opinion a trolleybus is much economic to the city and its inhabitants.
In a few days it will be very difficult to photograph the cathedral until year 2012.
Stitch of 64 pictures in 30 minutes with a RAM of 2 Giga.

Hi Didi,
Impressive numbers - 64 pictures to stitch and 2 Giga for one resulting photo. And than you must pack it in less then 300 kb. I wonder how big poster you could make of it. The result is really stunning. I like specially the upper parts of the towers.

Hello Didi,
It's a pleasure to be online when this image is still on the first page of the incoming photos. And what a beauty! I cannot imagine an image with more precision with less than a large number of stitched photos. This is a lesson for all of us on TE. Moreover, you are gracious in giving not only the technique of the photo, by the background to the photograph itself.
A few days ago I drove to Baltimore, Maryland about 160 km from my home to see an exhibition of multispectral photos of the Mona Lisa. A French engineer developed a camera that can take 240 MegaPixel images, and the details of the photo are spectacular.
Warm regards,

Bonsoir, cher ami Didi,

Hello Didi,
This is an impressive piece of architecture, in particular I notice the original tower design!
The people in front of the building give good scaling, showing the size of the structure...
Fine light, good sharpness in details and a wonderful blue sky!

Superbe boulot Didi.

Hello Didi,
A timely capture of this most beautiful cathedral. The lovely blue sky makes the perfect backdrop to show the architectural features to great effect. The people milling around the parvis contribute to the mood and offer a great sense of scale. Wonderful stitch work as always. With 64 images, I wonder how much overlap you allow between each image?

Bonjour,
Sylvain.

"Stitch of 64 pictures in 30 minutes with a RAM of 2 Giga" - i'd love to shoot architecture with you one day didi. This has all the class and touch of professionalism that scares me. But seems you aint bothered, but it would good to keep the size small and save it in a lower quality.
The pole is a bit distracting, would have great if the flag was up, but one can miss it very easily.
great stuff

Well the blue is really blue!!! (:-)
One doesn't know which is more fine: the architecure or the chromatic contrast?
This format really enhances the sense of grandeur and the whole image is so oustanding. But I guess you corrected the perspective distorsion, did you?
I think I would have preferred it without correction.
But it's just a personal taste.
An excellent work,

Bonjour, mon ami Didi,

Bravo, Didi!

Hi Didi,
very impressive view of this beautiful cathedral, I have seen it before in photos but this is certainly the best I have ever seen.
The stitch was a great idea: as well as almost a square frame: it helps us really to get closer and touch the details. It is a spectacular piece of architecture.
You have probably corrected the perspective which makes everything straight but the towers have a bit funny distortion. I always don't know what to do in such situation.
In any case it is a beautiful work, I really enjoy it, TFS

Bonjour Saïd,
You are the great master of stitching work, a real great master.
Again lovely work Saïd, but perhaps I have a small remark, I think that the picture a little bit the narrow is beneath, perhaps have to you use perspective tool to both side underside something to more open.
The top of the tower is too heavy!
Sharpness and clarity are superb, wonderful light and color, nice composition.
Lovely for look at. TFS.

Well, I saw in your introduction page that here was a stich of 64 photos and I said "I must see that!" I think, I would never have enough patience for such a work, but the result of yours is excellent. I love the beatiful sky and the perspective where you could keep the lines almost pararell without vanishing point.
I agree with your comments regarding the tram. Absolutly unnecessary! We are suffering something similar in my town Zaragoza, Spain. Though the tram was completely dismantled over 30 years ago and though strong opposition of the majority of the population with important demonstrations against it, the major continued with the project of construction of a new tram line. Reason: comissions (or bribes) were already distributed.

Amazing this cathedraal! The lines and details and the scale are very impressive and the blue sky is the perfect bg to frame it.
