Photographer's Note

Une petite balade dans le vieux Marseille, en compagnie de Clio, Baclama et Isabelle, et plus particulièrement au Vallon des Auffes , petit port pittoresque, qui a su conservé le charme d'antan.
Ces escaliers vous mène directement en surplomb du Port sur la corniche J.F Kennedy.
Merci à mes trois accompagnatrices pour cette excellente journée.

A stroll in the old Marseille, along with Clio, Baclama and Isabella, and especially the Vallon des Auffes, picturesque harbor, which has kept the charm of yesteryear.
These stairs will take you directly overlooking the Port on the ledge JF Kennedy.

this is a fine fine CUT of the way.
using the stairs, the railing the colorful signs and the textured wall.
so simple, but yet so beautiful and smart.

The success of this style of shot lies in the detail and composition I think Eric. Here you show that balance in a composition is critical. The few elements are carefully positioned within the frame creating harmony. The detail in the painted wall and steps well captured an the colours speak for themselves. Very good shot. A beautiful composition, with various elements superbly placed by your excellent crop. Of course, the colours are very vivid, and that's what makes this photo so appealing. I like the way the stairs climb out of the picture on the right, and the gentle curve of the banister. Very well done.

Bonjour Eric,

Une photo tres colorées dans laquelle tu as tres bien su utiliser les couleurs justement pour composer l'image. Notamment la plaque de rue bleue opposée au volet rouge dans le coin opposé, les 2 reliés par la rambarde de l'escalier.

Il semblerait que la neige et la glace qui ont envahi Marseille soient complètement disparues. La couleur de ce mur est très estivale pour le mois de février. Le cadrage vertical est très esthétique.

Hello Eric,

Bonne prise au cadrage vertical soigné, dans ce merveilleux quartier marseillais du Vallon des Auffes.
Le crepis jaune, la plaque bleue et le volet rouge donnent des couleurs du sud à cette composition pittoresque.

Pas le moindre bateau ni le moindre reflet à l'horizon mais toujours ces fantastiques couleurs et ce sens aigu de la composition. Superbe!

You have paid careful attention to the composition with the steps and handrail leaving us to wonder what is around the corner - excellent. The colours are rich and there is lovely textured detail in the crumbling wall and old steps. A favourite for me.

fais tirer 3 photos en 20x30 pour le concours avec d'aussi belles couleurs que dans cet escalier (le mien est beaucoup plus fade...)
c'etait pour moi aussi un super apres-midi...

Merci à toi et à Isabelle pour votre compagnie. Découvrir Marseille avec des Marseillais... que rêver de plus... j'ai adoré cette balade... viens juste de rentrer à Paris du soleil plein les yeux et un brushing d'enfer sur la tête après la journée d'aujourd'hui où j'ai vraiment cru m'envoler! Pas encore déchargé l'appareil... mais ça me démange surtout quand je vois ta photo! Et surtout... suis nos conseils pour les tirages. Bises et encore merci!

Eric, i just liked the pure orange tones and its very attractive glow. The name of the street in deep striking blue is a definitely a wonderful contrast as well as the red window. Excellent presentation! The black frame really helped a lot! Great work!
