Photographer's Note
If you wish to view it in even greater detail, do so here LA DEFENSE.
I've been posting several local Vancouver shots recently, so now its time for a change of pace.
Its hard to believe how I haven't posted this photo yet. It was taken 3 years ago while I spent a number of days in Paris.
This is of course is the La Defense area. A hub for photographers, a must for photographers, at least in my personal opinion.
If you enjoy futuristic architecture, then this is the place for you. The main post here looks like some sort of portal or entrance to a space ship.
In the WS are a couple more shots, and I may even enjoy those more. One of the WS photos has this same building but on a slight side angle, I think I prefer that one most - but oh well :)
I hope you enjoy this scene as much as I do, or at least appreciate it.

Hi Craig
A good wide angle photo of this classic structure. I like this view with its symmetry.

Hi Craig,i been there in 1990.There was just La Grande Arche in this zone, and not a lot of modern buildings like now. A fantastic perspective made in the best symmetry,i like a lot the 2 differents in the WS,well done! Have a nice Sunday and thanks,Luciano

Hello Craig,
Though I have been in Paris, I missed the La Defense (it wasn't in the organized tour). No I will have to go back.
Best Wishes,
Gy.

Hello Craig,
The perspective distortion occasioned by the wide angle lens is not unpleasant and serves to accentuate the immensity of the structure. The people are nicely dispersed about the frame and give scale to the composition. For some reason the image brings to mind the twenties film 'Metropolis'. Anyway, I like it a lot.

Hello Craig,
Not surprisingly this is the view I like the best, straight and neat. ;-) It's a fantastic building and this photo shows it well. Isn't it funny that all the people seen here are wearing dark clothes? That actually suits the style and tones of the building perfectly. A lady in red would have spoiled the atmosphere, just for once. I get the impression from Wikipedia that the viewing platform on the roof was closed in 2015. So you probably missed the superb view along the boulevards into central Paris that I was able to enjoy in 2005. You would have loved it.
Cheers,
Gert

Bonjour, cher Craig,
Bien sûr, j'ai reconnu tout de suite l'édifice (l'Arche de la Défense), et j'ai beaucoup aimé vos présentations étonnantes.
Un art de photographier différemment.
Très bien vu.
Amitiés.

Hello Craig,
I just saw this monumental piece of futuristic architecture very vaguely in the background of a rainy Paris when I watched the commemoration of the WW1 armistice. Your viewpoint makes it look really impressive. I have only been here once without a camera, so I really should go back one day.

The maths teacher at our school goes crazy when he sees this arch. Your low pov creates a great angle of distortion. Beautiful light does the rest. Great shot, Craig. Thanks for sharing it.

Hi Craig,
Super wide angle gives this architectural landmark quite special appearance. And the twisted version in the WS is fun too. All those people add strong sense of perspective.

Hello Craig,
This just shows how many wonderful photographs you have taken, to leave this lying in your archive for so long! It's a photograph just oozing modern design but taken from an angle to emphasise its angular form and repetitive patterns.
The w/s help us with its location but, I agree with you, this is the one for the main post!
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hello Craig.
Impressive this great construction that welcomes us when we arrived at LA DEFENSE, this is a great POV like the other two in the WS, the truth is that when you are in this place you want to take pictures everywhere, I agree a great place to photographers
Very good lighting management and very good sharpness.
Well done. I like it.
I wish you a pleasant week.
Very best regards.

Hi Craig
I must say - this is an impressive structure and you made it look even more so through thoughtfully chosen angle and composition. I would be hard pushed to choose between the main upload and the WS you prefer as they both have their merits.
In any case - great series of shots.
Have a nice Sunday

Hi Craig,
The presenc eof the people has an effect of scale. The point of view is showing the details of the architecture of La Defense. It is clear and precise. Have a nice day.

Hello Craig, Here your wide-angle lens works very well. Spectacular view of this iconic gate in La Defence. fantastic composition. Better view than in reality :). Stunning perspective and sharpness.
I have so many pictures from Uzbekistan (to say nothing about Balkans) but I go for another trip this week.
Kind regards MAlgo

Hello Craig,
Fascinating how you play here three times with the perspective of the Grande Arche in LA DEFENSE.
On the main picture it looks like you want to push the building backwards. And the other two photographs remind me of the Möbius band.
A beautiful creative presentation. It looks like modern art. 😉
Excellent work
Have a good week, groet Rob

Hi Craig
I was going to say I did not recall seeing this in Vancouver, but then I noticed you'd jumped to Paris. I like the well constructed wide angled view of the giant square like sculpture with a hole. The people looks like ants and are dwarfed by the huge size. Tfs!

Hi Craig
Good play with your ultra wide lend which distorts the reality, the normal view should be close to the one in the WS I did.
Best regards

Hello Craig,
These are four lovely photos of marvelous architecture. My favorite would be one of the WS photos, but I can't tell which. The main entry was too big even for your wide angle lens. 👍👍

Ciao Craig
Buon we

Hello Craig,
Sorry I'm late with my critique. This is really cool. It's very futuristic, and the people look so tiny next to this giant structure. I also like the slightly tilted WS view. There are so many lines and boxes to enjoy in this shot.

I have photos from this place, but with an analogical camera. I liked the distortion caused by lens here, excellent inclusion of the ants in FG.
take care
