Photographer's Note

At the port of Saint Martin de Ré, there are of course boats but also flowers which brighten up the place, finally like everywhere in Charente-Maritime. Hollyhocks are flowers that have become almost emblematic of the department and also of these islands.

Hello Jean,

Hollyhocks aren't so common in Australia. Here they provide a welcome splash of hot pink that contrasts well with the blue sky. Good sharpness and framing. Tfs!

Bonjour Jean, the hollyhock takes pride of place in the foreground, with excellent sharp focusing upon it.
The town is slightly out of focus, but not so much that we cannot see some detail.
Beautiful early summer sunshine.

Hello Jean,

The hollyhocks were a very good inclusion to colour the f/g and to add contrast with the features that are visible in the b/g. The flower is strongly placed, with excellent details.
