Photographer's Note

To celebrate my wife's birthday we spent a few days in Paris. We love Paris. It isn't really that far away and we should visit it more often really.

THE BOURSE DE COMMERCE is an 18th century historical building in the heart of Paris. It was used for trading and moneymaking until the end of last century.

THE FONDATION PINAULT now houses here. Just like the Fondation Vuiton, this is a private art enterprise. The Pinault collection focusses on living and contemporary art. It has just opened and currently stages its first show. Needless to say it is a bit of an arty hot spot in Paris these days.

THIS PICTURE shows the grand dome of the Bourse with a part of the beautifully restored mural and the first floor interior facade underneath.

The black presence below is part of a wax statue installation by Urs Fischer, a giant classicist statue made of wax, with small candles inside, burning, as the statue gradually collapses. Quite impressive, especially given the location!
