Photographer's Note

After the photo of the Saint-Nicolas Tower (a tower that leans a bit ...), here is a view taken from its top. The viewpoint extends over 360° with the sea horizon and especially the view of the port and the city of La Rochelle, Superbly photogenic.

Interesantan i lep pogled, dobar tekst ...
Lep deo grada sa lukom, dobro pokazano sa lepim bojama, kontrastom, perspektivom i uhvacenim trenutkom sa oblacima koji dolaze i najvaljuju proimenu vremena.

Hello Jean,
It's fascinating to see the same place as before from this angle. The tall lighthouse looks rather small from here. It's generally an interesting view with good colours.

Bonjour Jean,

L'étendue de l'endroit donne de la profondeur à la composition. La prise de vue permet de voir les détails du port et d'une partie de la ville. La lumière fait ressortir les couleurs. Bonne journée.

Superb composition with this panoramic view of the city and the view of the port in the foreground, in reality this port seems to have two port areas.

Bonjour Jean, how lovely to see this view from the top of the Saint-Nicolas, and it is a far reaching view too.
The light was perfect so the details are very clear.
I like the inclusion of the top of the tower in the foreground.

Hi Jean,
Lovely high angle view towards the port with lots of sail boats. Down below there's even a lighthouse, your favourite subject. Tower wall is not thick at the top. Despite the style it is certainly not meant to stand against gunfire.

This is a fine view, showing the port and the vastness of La Rochelle!
I like how you have anchored the f/g with the crenelations. Their colours link with the quayside and help to define the pattern of the outer and inner harbours.

Bonjour Jean,
We feel as if we were making this tour with you. It is easy to find a connection from one photo to another. Great reportage and of course more importantly each view is so different and interesting. I wouldn't expect a view from above in a place like that. Fantastic outcome. I would thing this was taken from a castle on top of a hill rather than from the tower.
Very eye pleasing geometry and lovely colors.

Bonjour Jean,
On pourrait croire qu'il s'agit d'une vue aérienne, mais on peut voir une partie de la tour en bas qui rend votre point de vue clair.
Magnifique avec les deux ports de plaisance, la couleur de l'eau et la vue d'une belle ville sans beaucoup d'immeubles de grande hauteur.

Beautiful sight from the height of the tower, which found on the map at 46.1558, -1.1533.
Blue and green water coilors contrast with the light-brown local stones of the houses and red roof-tiles.
