Photographer's Note

We continue the visit of the port of La Rochelle with this view of the three towers (14/15th century). The Saint-Nicolas tower in the foreground then the Tour de la Chaîne and in the background the Tour de la Lanterne. It was once used as a landmark for boats, but the Lantern Tower was also used at a time as a prison.

Lepo mesto i stara arhitektura, dobro pokazano sa lepim bojama, kontrastom, perspektivom i uhvacenim trenutkom sa oblacima koji dolaze.

Hello Jean,
Three very beautiful towers seen on a bright and sunny day. The entire view is quite impressive and captured with appealing colours. The person in the foreground adds a human presence which I always appreciate, even though this man isn't doing anything but just being there.

Bonjour Jean, the blue sky is the perfect backdrop for the view of the three towers.
The light has really enhanced the interesting towers, highlighting their well preserved details.
Interesting that the Lantern Tower was once used as a prison.
An excellent composition.

You have used a great viewpoint!

Bonjour Jean,
Agréable de voir ces tours d'un point de vue différent, alors que le port n'est pas du tout visible ici.
Sur cette photo il est d'autant plus visible que le clocher de l'église Saint-Nicolas est en pente.
Je m'attendrais à ce que plus de gens veuillent voir ces tours de près.

A great photo of the three impressive towers of La Rochelle in a row. They stand out so well form the blue sky. The tree and white clouds at left make a good inclusion as well.

Bonjour Jean,
Each angle offers us such a different sight. The towers are familiar and yet from this perspective the place looks different again and we can really better imagine the other side of the port entrance.
The weather was fabulous with some clouds nicely decorating the sky.

once again, i'm impressed at how long these have been standing, hundreds of years, just incredible. love the strong blue bg and the puffy clouds. lots to like in this warm light
