Photographer's Note

Just open your ears.
Feel the beat.
Take my hand (please, don't step on my feet).
Follow me.
Let yourself go.
And... here we are, ready to dance all night long!

It was almost noon. It was hot.
The performance of the Grooms, including Bernard Herrmann's Psycho theme arranged for brass (and plastic knife) or highlights from Verdi's la Traviata, was coming to an end.
The band had been invited for the inauguration of a "guinguette" in a small marketplace in Aubervilliers, in the suburbs of Paris.
After purchasing asparagus and apricots (or anything else they wished to cook afterwards), shoppers were invited to sit there for a while, take a rest, chat with their friends and neighbours, drink fruit juice or red wine, nibble thin slices of smoked ham, dried sausage or cheese, enjoy the music, get in the rythm...

Fun is everywhere, as long as you stay attuned to your surroundings.
Such is life...

You needn't tell me that a man who doesn't love oysters and asparagus and good wines has got a soul, or a stomach either. He's simply got the instinct for being unhappy highly developed.

Well, it's one for the money,
Two for the show,
Three to get ready,
Now go, cat, go.
But don't you step on my blue suede shoes.
You can do anything but lay off of my blue suede shoes.
