Aujourd'hui dernière étape du Tour de France version 2006 avec une nouvelle fois un américain pour vainqueur Floyed Landis. Je me suis essayé cet après midi a la technique du filé et je rend un grand hommage à Brigitte "bibiweb" pour ses photos qui m'ont donné l'inspiration de la technique du filé. Bon c'est clair que c'est moins glorieux que les siennes mais faut bien commencer un jour non ? ;)
Les cyclistes ont fait 10 fois le tour des champs élysées pour cette dernière étape et la meilleure musique pour les regarder passer reste la musique techno, bob sinclar par exemple avec "world, hold on"
Je mets deux WS, p't'etre qu'il y aura un qui vous conviendra ;)

Today last step of the "tour de France" version 2006 with another time an american as a winner : Floyd Landis. I tried the technique of the "filé" and wanna congratulate Brigitte aka bibiweb for the inspiration she gave me in her gallery. Of course i agree this is less good than her job that's why in give you 2 WS, perhaps you'll like one of the 2 ;)
Cyclists made 10 times a little circle around champs élysées before sprinting and thor hushovd was the best. Best music to listen to appreciate this step was techno music, Bob Sinclar for exemple with "World hold on" :)
"Catch me if you can" is the english title for this picture.

Salut Sébastien,
Presque du direct, ça ! Le filé est réussi et l'effet de vitesse est saisissant (normal, ils roulent à 60km/h), les couleurs et la luminosité excellentes !
Mais quel est ce coureur d'AG2R ? ;-)

Hi Sebastien - I was wondering if you would get some photos of the Tour, nice to see them here! The technique is perfect, the background being just a blur behind the rider who's perfectly sharp. And the colours are great too.

Interesting to see the workshop & how a slower shutter speed affects this technique. In that shot the riders themselves weren't quite as sharp.

superb composition and amazing blur-effect showing the speed the cyclists goes.
the WS-photos are cool, too, especially the sepia one.

Félicitations, Sébastien, pour un coup d'essai c'est très réussi. J'aime ce décor de colonnes avec le public dans le flou et cette image très nette du coureur. Il faudra que je m'y mette un jour c'est trop beau !

Hi Sebastien,
First i thought the crop was to large, a more closer view would be better. But looking at it a bit longer i changed my mind. Inluding the blurred pillars in the background with their brown colours it really adds something to it.
For you as a Frenchman you picked a rider from a French team of course ;-)
The panning is wonderful taken, this technique is very difficult and this one can really compare against my Thailand picture with the motorbike...and that's a big compliment..!!!!
You did a very good job on this one...really great work.

J'ai pas eu le courage d'y aller, trop chaud et fatigué par les nuits courtes ces dernières semaines (ca c'est ds mon nouveau rôle de papa :D)..
Une superbe photo que j'aurais aimé faire..

Un filé très propre, excellente qualité !
Le fond apporte une belle touche et des teintes très intéressantes.
C'est vraiment une belle réussite, techniquement vraiment au point.
J'aime bien ton WS "1/20sec" aussi.

Comme chaque année on nous a dit que cette fois, c'est certain, le tour est propre. Toujours plus propre chaque année, ça me fait penser au sketch de Coluche, "la lessive qui lave plus blanc que blanc"...Tiens d'ailleurs c'était la dernière année pour le directeur du tour, Jean-Marie Leblanc... Sans doute que son successeur sera plus Leblanc que Leblanc...
Bon Mon Seb, malgré tout ça tu nous a pondu une superbe image, avec un filé incroyable. Pour un coup d'essai c'est un coup de maitre. Bravo.

Celle-ci est certainement la mieux réussie concernant la technique car le coureur est parfaitement net sur un fond très..filé ;o)
Mais ma préférence va à ton premier WS en Sépia. J'aime beaucoup le cadrage serré, le grain et le choix du sépia qui fige un peu plus encore l'instant. Bien vu. Bravo pour un premier coup d'essai ! Les miens sont rarement réussi, c'est pas évident de suivre le sujet en mouvement à la même vitesse !!

Bonsoir Sebastien. Tu as réussi vraiment une photo très bonne. J'aime ce definition si precise sur le cycliste, et le fond si diffuminé. C'est très jolie. Le permier workshop (le blanc et noir) est, à mon avis, vraiment bon. Il a une sensation de mouvement plus grand, j'adore aussi. Salut.

Beau résultat pour de premiers essais. Bel effet de vitesse et belles couleurs mais j'aurais préféré un cadrage plus serré (peut être pas possible?), c'est pourquoi je préfère le premier workshop (le sépia est bien mais tu ne l'as pas en couleurs?)A quelle vitesse as-tu pris la photo?

Moi je prefere cette version aux deux en WS, c'est celle ou le cycliste est le plus net, c'est tres reussi, et je l'ajoute au theme dedie. Par contre j'accroche pas sur le cadrage, trop de bitume en avant plan et la pente descendante ne colle pas a la sensation d'effort, je t'en propose un different en Ws.

Great impact here. Wonderful action image from this powerful event. The choice of blurred background works really nicely for emphasizing the "lonely" cyclist. He is well placed in the frame, that's why looking at the image is a real pleasure.

a beautiful sports photo, you can just feel his pain and the sweat.. technically absolutely flawless.. i love the slight tilt (whether intentional or not).. i'd crop perhaps a little bit from the bottom and just a few pixels from the right, but i think the ws crop is too much, you lose some of the dynamism.. the best cycling shot on te since this beauty...

Sincerement tu progress a une vitesse fulgurante, je filé j'ai essayé mais aussi vite abandonné ;o) et toi en un claquement de doigts tu reussi, allez avoue, t'en a shooté une bonne centaine avant de la reussir non ;o)
Rien a redire, superbe, belle maitrise parfaitement cadree, excellente sensation de vitesse !

Je suis très flatté d'être citée en example dans ta note, d'autant plus que la technique du filé, c'est sur TE que je l'ai apprise grâce à d'autres spécialistes tels que PixelTerror et Clairedelune.
J'ai une nette préférence pour cette photo et j'avoue que je rejoins JY dans sa proposition de recadrage. Le filé est superbe et le netteté sur le coureur impeccable. Bravo!

Houla houla mais qu'est-ce que c'est que ce superbe filé ? Il est vraiment excellent et digne de figurer dans un magazine. Non sans rire, je ne plaisante pas. Les colonnes te font en plus un superbe fond et la position du coureur appuie l'impression de vitesse.

I clicked on sport channel and it was Tour de France in Paris that moment and i swear i thought "Sebastien must be there"...and ooops :) I like this work - very dynamic. U know i love action shots and this one is superb. About WSs: close in sepia is nice. Though original picture is lots better. Jean-Yves made great WS but it doesn't make your picture less attractive by itself.
I wanna more n more n more sport from France (fuhhh so nice to see that not just me sweating hard ;))
So coming rarely but with loooooong critique :)

Felicitations pour cet image extraordinaire du Tour, Sebastion ou ton panning produit un espece de bokeh splendide sur le fond. Oui Landis a ete couronne, mais jusqu'a quand? pas marant ce doping, hein?
Cette technique du panning n'est pas facile du tout - j'ai essaye un peu (au rugby) avec un monopode...ca a plutot mal tourne ;o)
