Photographer's Note

This was a shot taken while touring the battlefields of the First World war. This is the Ovillers Cemetery, and it contains 3,265 men from the British, French, South Africian, Austrailian and New Zealand armys and navys..... of which 2,477 are unidentified.

I was very lucky with the light in this shot. It was a very cloudy day, but the sun was peeking through every now again again, and just as I was taking this shot, the sun burst through and light up the headstones. I have played around with the contrast a bit to give it more of an effect, but only a tweek.
