Photographer's Note

Inside the church of Donnery classified historic building since 1992.

I also carried out a stitch of six pictures , but I had forgotten to adjust my zoom on 50 mm and that caused a distortion of the picture.
The sunlight was almost hard through the stained glasses.

Here is the final result after using HDR function with Autopano software.

C'est un travail tout en finesse que tu nous proposes là, je trouve l'exposition bien gérée et la distortion n'est pas flagrante. Vraiment du bel ouvrage.

Bonsoir, mon ami Didi,
L'exercice est d'autant plus difficile avec cette lumière forte.
Le cadrage est très bien réalisé pour représenter le choeur de l'église. La croisée d'ogives est particulièrement bien mise en valeur.
La photo publiée en atelier (six photos) n'est pas désagréable non plus (un exercice que je vais essayer d'exploiter) !

Hi Didi. Yes the effort in the main post is certainly straighter and better than the workshop. You did a commendable job of keeping the exposure balanced in this tricky situation with the windows and shadow areas. Technically it's perfect and I don't see a thing I would do any different. Nice shot Didi.

Ces conditions de lumière sont toujours très difficiles à maitriser....je viens de m'y essayer dans la cathédrale d'Auxerre mais, soit le vitrail est surex, soit les murs sont sousex, et difficile de trouver un bon compromis. Tu pourrais peut-être essayer une correction de luminosité sélective sur les vitraux avec la pipette ou le lasso?
Ceci dit, l'image que tu présentes est déjà de belle qualité et tout à fait intéressante.

Salut Didi,
Un assemblage de photos très réussi.
Les conditions de prises ne sont pas évidentes avec cette forte lumière et tout le reste de l'espace plutôt sombre. Mais, le résultat est très probant. Bravo.

PS j'ai tenté un ws avec la méthode HDR qui donne un peu plus de détails sur les vitraux en espérant que cela te plaise

I like the effect on the stones from the light through the coloured glass in the windows. Very difficult to expose correctly but you did well; I see no problems with the result.

Bonsoir Didi,

Tu m'en avais prévenu et je ne suis pas déçu, bravo pour le stitch en WS pour qui j'ai une petite préférence bien que les deux photo soient de belle facture. Comme le disent nos amis tu t'en es bien tiré pour avec la forte lumière, c'est très agréable. On détaille l'architecture avec plaisir. Une belle réussite bravo. J'aime bien aussi le WS de Hervé.

je trouve que la tu chipottes car la distorsion n'est pas trop visible si tu ne le dis pas je ne sui pas sur qu'on l'aurai vu et le stitch est bien fait, bonne lumière

Nous voilà en plein choeur ! Pas de surexpo, c'est très bien; mais tu es un maître en la matière ;o)
Les détails d'architecture sont bien perceptibles. L'intérieur reste quand même dépouillé en comparaison avec nos églises.

Composition centrée justifiée et stitch réussi,je ne vois pas de dégâts malgré la focale utilisée.Un exercice difficile vu l'écart entre les niveaux de luminance.
Du beau travail.

Hi Didi,
You controlled the rather hard light very well to produce a near perfect exposure level inside. It would be difficult to darken the window area any further without reducing the clarity and light within. As it is, the details of the altar area and the walls are discernible and I like the play of light on the left. Very fine work, my friend. There is an overriding warmth here.

C'est bien pris avec ce cadrage asymétrique et une bonne gestion de la luminosité, vraiment difficile avec avec cette forte lumière à travers les vitraux, le résultat est réussi.

Hello Didi - The stitch is excellent and the distortion is not noticeable at all to me. I like the HDR version much better though, this method usually renders very artificial looking images, but not in this case. The original is not bad either, but the windows do appear too bright.

Un intérieur d'église avec la lumière en face, c'est un exercice des plus durs à réaliser. Pourtant tu ne t'en es pas mal tiré. Pour le stitch, j'ai essayé de le redresser avec ShiftN mais le résultat n'est pas probant.

Tout un travail de patience pour en arriver à un résultat qui en vaut la peine; cependant, je préfère ton autre photo du vitrail de l'église Donnery que je m'empresse d'aller commenter.

In the discussion of HDR or not I think the answer gives itself looking to your WS (final result). As compared with this version the HDR variant for me would have been the one to present, not this original.. But maybe more a matter of liking.
