Photographer's Note

One of the guard shelters on the west ramparts of the citadel of Besançon.

Below, one can see the Doubs river (river that feed the ground waters in which the well of the citadel draws ). The road is one of those that leads to Dijon.

Excellente composition avec un très bon piqué. Le choix d'une orientation verticale est judicieux à mon avis. Exposition bien équilibrée.

Prise de vue vertigineuse ! L'angle de prise de vue est parfait pour mettre en valeur cette architecture et l'arrière- plan.
Une photo de grande qualité par ses détails, ses couleurs, sa composition.

Quel joli monument Philippe, en pus la vue vers le bas est à couper le soufle. beau cadrage, Belle réalisation. petit clin d'oeil le département du doubs (département qui porte bien mal son nom) puissque c'est le département le plus froid de France.

Excellent DOF with plenty of details visible in both the foreground and in the distance. The colours of the sky and the trees are beautiful and I also like the reflection of the sky in the very calm water.

Outstanding shot, Philippe. Everything is on spot here - the sharpness, the depth, the colors and of course the way you composed it. The stone textures of the guard shelter are very detailed, and contrast well with the forest setting. The river surface is very smooth and provides a lovely reflection. I think this is one of your best so far.

WOW, la photo est formidable! Le cadrage de cette guérite ainsi que la rivière du Doubs est géniale. Les couleurs sont également magistrales et il y a une foule de détails à observer. Bien vu!

C'est une très, très belle composition. J'aime beaucoup. Le point de vue intelligament adopté met en relation la citadelle et les contre-bas d'une manière élégante, avec de très bonnes proportions. L'ensemble se présente très bien, les détails sont nombreux, les couleurs vivantes et la netteté sans reproche. Bravo et merci du partage Philippe.

Great clear shot with excellent colors. Good PoV over this beautiful landscape. I like the roadway in the distance below, winding through the valley beside the river. It emphasizes the magnitude and the height of the fortress.

Excellent colors and very nicely composed. The way this tower sticks out and watches ove everything is great. It really seems to be protecting the landscape with the road and river passing beneath it. And the "wall" of the rise from the river adds to the fortress like and protected feel. The water has excellent reflections, too. Very nicely done.

Très jolie composition Philippe. Le ciel donne une touche de volupté à un univers tout en détails. L'équilibre des couleurs est parfait, sauf peut-être le cadre que j'aurais préféré dans les tons de la photo. Désormais, quand je circulerai sur cette route (celà m'arrive parfois), cette guérite ne me sera plus étrangère. Merci pour le partage.

Bonjour Philippe,
Superbes photos, merci.
Habitant près de cet endroit, je dois corriger que la route au bord du Doubs est la Nationale 83 ( Strasbourg-Lyon ) c'est donc la route dite ici de Lons-le-Saunier ou route de Lyon. Celle de Dijon est par Dole, de l'autre côté de la ville.
Mais ce n'est pas grave !
