Olympiahalle

Here’s a closer look at some of the buildings at the Olympiapark in Munich and their iconic design. This building is the Olympiahalle, which was the venue for gymnastics and handball during the 1972 Summer Olympics. The Olympiapark is still used throughout the year for all kinds of events, like the fairground you can see here as well.

Du leker fint med former och skuggor och har placerat Pariserhjulets röd-gula nav perfekt i en glipa mellan "seglen". Det är en elegant och rytmisk komposition med ett väl hanterat ljus.

Hallo Lars,
Dit is werkelijk een schitterende compositie!
Het reuzenrad wordt op de beste plaats getoond. Prachtig met het rood-gele centrale deel van het rad dat als een ondergaande zon de foto siert.
De Olympiahalle heeft een heel speciaal design. Uitstekend gepresenteerd vanuit een zeer goede standplaats.
Mooi zijn ook de schaduwen op de grond.

curious structure, it would be nice for a rainy day but terrible in my climate with the hard sun acting as a oven above. nice closer view of the structures.

Hi Lars,

These sun sails remind me a little of Expo 88 in Brisbane. I like how the frame the bg Ferris Wheel at left. Good shadow play in the fg and superb sharpness. Tfs!

This is such a photogenic place, so extraordinary that it certainly deserves many photos. I would love to spend there hours especially on a weather day like this! The blue sky helps to get the best out of the glass roofs.

Hello Lars,

Olympian Stadiums are often very original buildings and this is certainly one of the best examples that I have seen! From the viewpoint that you have chosen, the roofs seem to flow uninterrupted, like a protective blanket, curving and stretching over the site.
Your composition is perfect, the tall, supportive pillar strongly placed on the thirds line, with the roofs billowing out on either side and the wheel, peeping through a tear-shaped gap.

Hello Lars, a well composed shot of these buildings where the orange sunburst neatly fills the circle that is the big wheel.
There are some good shadows too from the latticework design that covers the parabolic shapes.
It all looks in good order considering its age.
