Altes Rathaus

Time to go to the city centre in Munich. This is the Old Town Hall (Altes Rathaus). It was built in the late 14th century and changed several times in later centuries, until the municipality moved to a new building in 1874. The photo was taken from a street called Tal.

Hallo Lars,
Een schitterende, kleurrijke en zeer levendige foto van het stadscentrum.
Er valt heel wat te zien op deze foto.
De toren van de kathedraal werd mooi geplaatst tussen de torens en spitsen van het oude stadhuis.
Mooi dat je onder dit stadhuis kan doorlopen en op een leuk pleintje lijkt uit te komen.
Een prachtige zomerse foto met veel kleuren en uitstekende helderheid.

Goedenavond Lars,

Hier krijgen we echt een stadsoverzicht in volle werking.
Van corona was hier niet veel te merken.
Se gebouwen zijn heel mooi gefotografeerd met de verschillende torens

Hej Lars,
Det ser ut som om Rådhuset är kopierat från Disneyland, eller möjligen tvärtom. Det är en stilig byggnad, även om den har fräschats upp många gånger under årens lopp. Alla röda tak matchar, någorlunda, den klarröda turistbussen. Det är en bild med liv och rörelse och glada färger, och det enda du glömde var att ta bort busken i förgrunden. ;-)

I and my family stay for some moment in this square, we hadn't so much time in the town and visited saint peter church and the cathedral only. a nice view of the famous tower.

This was a difficult shot, including so many details and with traffic moving in the road. Despite that, your photograph shows excellent clarity and a similar sense of depth!
Your viewpoint reveals the busy atmosphere but also shows us the beautiful, old buildings as important details.

This brings back good memories. The old townhall looks more stylish and less ornate than the 'new' town hall. Question for you. Is the Dutch language closer to German or English? Or neither, perhaps as a Germanic offshoot with Flemish and French influences as well?

het stadhuis ziet er uit alsof het volgens het oude bouwplan met nieuwe witte blokken opnieuw is gebouwd laatst.

Hi Lars,
THis is almost like looking at my home town, I have so much sentiment for this place. You had an amazing day in Munich and the pictures are so clear and sharp with amazing colors.
I like the presence of the taxis in the foreground something tupical although first time I see they allowed a taxt which is not Mercedes? Are people getting poorer in Munich?
The double decker bus is a strage sight for Germany but I suppose for open air sightseeing it makes sense and can be seen everywhere.
Great capture of the old rathaus.

What a beautiful building! The light is perfect to show the white walls and red roofs and the blue sky complements other colours perfectly. The bus matches the colour of the roofs too.
