Photographer's Note
I have a great satisfaction of having lived in five different countries, and sometimes in few different cities in a given country. I could rarely afford overseas travel but I always did a lot of local trips, discovering so many locations off the beaten track. My TrekEarth gallery does not reflect it very well. I could afford my first Canon in 2001 but for many years I was still using the cheapest lenses. I have experienced the transformation to digital photography after I have already visited several beautiful destinations. My first two digital Canons open a new world for me but were sometimes a bit disappointing. About 8 years ago I could afford a bit better equipment and it was quite a revolution for me. I could see a difference right away. Unfortunately it was too late: so many amazing places were recorded by me quite poorly.
Since I spent 7 years in various locations in Germany I have quite a sentiment for this country. So here you are: I have found a photo of St Katharinen church with the Jungfernbruecke in the foreground. I would love to re-visit this spot with a wide angle lens at the blue hour...

Ciao Mariusz
eccellente la prospettiva di questo ponte per andare a scoprire l'architettura al centro della foto.
Purtroppo vorrei rivisitare molti luoghi anche io per poter vedere e fotografare certi soggetti in modo diverso.
Saluti

HI Mariusz
great looking photo all around.
this one is all about the composition.
having the raised bridge in the fg sets it all up.
having the church in the bg gives the photo a clear FG/BG separation - its like having 2 shots in one.
the sky is crystal clear, the light is fantastic.
I wouldn't change anything - except perhaps adding a lady in a bright red dress on the bridge haha
cheers

Hi Bonojur dear Mariusz
A perfectly considered framwork image in the best vertical fromat. Sotatsy color touch for the main subject against the deep blue sky is so appealing and eye-catching at all.
All the best and have a good Sunday! Takero

Hi Mariusz.
An oldie but a goodie. Very strong perspective view across the bridge. An excellent composition and pleasing exposure of the colour and light. From your note, I presume this one was taken after you got your new Canon. Excellent shot.

Hello mariusz,
Managed a good POV over the rusty old bridge and up to the top of the tower. Green copper plated roof and tower contrast to brown and the blue sky. Immaculate photo done at midday according to the clock. Never been to Hamburg, though.
Have a nice Sunday,
Ike

Hello Mariuz,
Always enough ingredients for a succesful photo: A deep blue sky, the green of oxidized copper of church spires, the red of the bricks used. The rusty bridge on this picture leads us to this beautiful scene, giving the picture something special.

Hello Mariusz,
I also wish I could take new photos from places where my old pictures didn't turn out so well, but now I am getting too old to return to most faraway countries where traveling is uncomfortable and sometimes has become dangerous. This is a nice photo of a good quality, as far as I can judge. Excellent colours and sharpness, a nicely balanced composition with good depth created by the bridge. I guess if you would return here you would now wait for a lady in red to cross the bridge, wouldn't you? :-)
Kind regards,
Gert

Podoba mi sie to ujecie przez most, jakby wchodzilo sie wprost do kosciola, w jakis; sposob ja czuje sie w Hamburgu prawie jak we Wroclawiu, choc to nie ta skala

Hello Mariusz,
Though from your archive, this photograph is still worthy of being posted and appreciated on TE. Sometimes, when we browse our archives, we are surprised by what is still lying there!
I love how you have used the bridge, here. It reminds me of how we used the bridges at Salford Quays. The converging lines of the railings, emerging from opposite corners, are very effective in drawing viewers inwards, towards the main focus, in this case, the church. There is just enough bridge, so that it is useful but does not detract from the beauty of the tall-spired church. ( I presume that is copper cladding, creating that lovely greenish roof and spire!)
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hello Mariusz.
Sensational perspective, giving us the bridge, which leads the eye toward the splendid church with this very original tower, curious contrast between the green tones in the tower and roof, with its red bricks.
A magnificent colorful, giving the image a lot of chromatic wealth.
Very good management of lighting and very good sharpness.
Very nice work. I like it.
I wish you a nice week.
Best regards.
Luis.

Czesc Mariusz,
Swietny kadr z Hamburga, miasta ktore przewijalo sie w moim zyciu acz zupelnie go nie znam. Ot taka dziwna kombinacja.Przejscie przez most pieknie prowadzi wglab kadru.
pozdrawiam
Piotr

Ciao Mariusz
I like the dual curves of the bridge which also adds strong lead in lines & diminishing linear perspective. Good sharpness and the blue sky contrasts well with the red burgundy colour of the buildings. Tfs!

Hello Mariusz,
Beautiful with the red-blue-green combination.
The bridge is a good lead in and also gives more depth to the picture.
The rusty-looking railing of the bridge fits well with the brick colour of the church.
Best regards, Paul

Hello Mariusz,
I have a similar photo of this church and the bridge, which makes such a great foreground and lead-in towards the tall spire. Part of the roof had already been renewed here and they have completed the renovation by now. I find it hard to tell whether I like the green or the brown roofs best. The contrast of the green with the blue sky is very appealing. Great work.
Lars
