Photographer's Note

Large two level carousel in the Christmas Market of Frankfurt. Many Christmas markets on smaller towns have been cancelled due to pandemic. On bigger cities there are markets with restrictions. As far as I know there are no food and drink tents anywhere.

Hi Kari,in fact, Germany is going through a bad period, like all of northern Europe, but even in Italy things are getting worse, fortunately almost everyone has been vaccinated. Beautiful photos of the carousel, the main one is wonderful, with the blur effect in the face of very clear people, excellent WS which instead shows the perfect details of the carousel. I remember from my trip through Germany last summer that in many places we saw a carousel in squares.
But at one of the many German Christmas markets they belong even more.
Here you beautifully show the colourful movement against the background of the traditional houses and the audience wrapped in thick coats.

Hello Kari,
It makes no difference to the photo that no Glühwein was available. The excitement among those watching the carousel was the same, and the fine buildings also look good without food or drinks. Above all the brightness of the carousel and its well captured speed creates a good atmosphere.

A dynamic capture of the carousel depicting it's vibrancy and vivid colours as I can imagine the eye getting dragged all around the image. Excellent use of slow shutter.

I'll stick with the main one any time - a slow enough shutter speed to get good blur but there is still enough detail. A great one.
