Rear of the 1000 DM banknote, a photo from Hessen, West

Photographer's Note

It was depicted on the old German 1000 DM banknotes:
Limburg Cathedral. But its western twin tower front, of course.
Turning over the banknote, this might have been the appropriate view (which of course was not the case).

Taken on slide film with Canon A1, professionally digitalized.

I saw this cathedral from the bus cruising fast on the #3 Autoban in 06/2013. a very imposing edifice seen for distances.
A fine choice of the POV here.

Obviously I have never seen a 1000 DM note. But this looks a good theme for one. Beautiful castle on a hill. And you have framed it well with spring trees. Excellent sidelight.
