Black-tailed godwit (Limosa limosa) on a damp meadow at the nature reserve "Ochsenmoor" south of Lake Dümmer. Looking for a catch with its long beak. Those beautiful shorebirds are classified as "Near threatened" by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).

Bine cadré cet oiseau des marécages, un bon angle et une bonne netteté d'image, le contraste de luminosité est parfaitement géré, c'est bien réussi.

Hi Roland,
Excellent sharp shot of this bird on grassy wetland. Direction of light shows the bird darker than background, giving good contrast.

Hello Roland,

This is a stunning close-up of the bird. We can so clearly see long beak and its mottled plumage, so effective for camouflage.
It reminds be very much of the curlew, another bird that is threatened by ever decreasing habitats.
