Photographer's Note
St Viktor Cathedral
The legend tells that the roman legionary Viktor
and his companions died here as Christian
Martyrs in the 4th century.
The foundation stone for the St Viktor cathedral
was set above the old grave church in 1263.
the cathedral was build in the gothic style
and was finished in 1544.
The décor from the cathedral was very expensive
and valuable. Only the best craftsmen and
Artists could work here.

Hello Hermann !
Great shot. The gothic architecture is fantastic. The natural light gives the colors a superb but smooth highlight, specially in the geometric ceiling.

Hi Hermann, A magnificent view inside of the church. It is a really nice long exposure shot. The mood, the architecture style, and the color inside the church can be seen very clearly in details. Well done.

I like church interiors as photo subjects, Hermann - they offer an intriguing blend of sumptous beauty and photographic challenge. A good result you got shooting this with film, and a nice rendition of the colors. I might have tried at least a slight adaptation of the distortion for this one - but on the other hand I understand you kept it as it is always hard to let go of any of the interior detail. Nice work.

Hi Hermann, impressive cathedral this way, the colors seem a bit strange, at least in my eyes.
I have been playing with it a bit to get the lines straight, just for fun, but the result was so blurry, and i couldn't get it better as fas as the sharpness was concerned so I won't upload it

Guten tag Hermann! This is way these wide-angle lenses can be so spectacular. The sheer gothic verticality looks very spectacular here! I love the lines for they make for a nicely graphic capture and all the great details. Very good job!

hi hermann, it always fascinated me how those huge cathedrals are difficult to photograph meaning they were designed to make life of the photographes a pain in the bum :-))
but you have managed to do a great job, i do appreciate as i fing the indoor archi pics quite a challange and this one is particularly good;
be back with the green stuff 2morrow;

Dag Herman,
Groeten,

Guten Abend Hermann,
Long exposure was an interesting idea -- the woman in the right looks like a ghost and makes quite spiritual atmosphere ;-) I like the colours, even though they don't look real. Did you adjusted them during post processing?
Thanks,
Marek

Very nice architectural photography you accomplished here Hermann. Except the colors seem not real to me, but I have not seen the church so you can be the judge. focusing on the altar area (although farther away)is better as it is the center of the picture.

Hi Hermann,
Nice exercize here in symetry and quest for graphical elements. Interestingly here the distortion works in leading the eye to the altar.
Have a nice day,

Bonjour Hermann,

And the result of the selected artisans is at sight! A stunning image, not only by the fantastic architecture, but also by the super dramatic effect of the perspective distortion. The exposure is very, very well controlled. An astonishing image.

WOW! I love this photo! The symetry and the details is amazing. The only thing I might say is that the centre of the photo is a bit lacking in detail, but obviously that is more down to the size of the file, im sure th eoriginal if perfect.
