Photographer's Note
St Viktor Cathedral
The legend tells that the roman legionary Viktor
and his companions died here as Christian
Martyrs in the 4th century.
The foundation stone for the St Viktor cathedral
was set above the old grave church in 1263.
the cathedral was build in the gothic style
and was finished in 1544.
The décor from the cathedral was very expensive
and valuable. Only the best craftsmen and
Artists could work here.
Another find from the hardisc,a detail from one
of the wooden carved altars.

hi hermann, actually - a monochromatic image today; i like this type of archi, and art details, this one has a visible link with other polish te member - krzysztof (kdien) who also likes to weed out the details;
a nice study of forms and shapes;
ciao, j.

Hermann, very nice shot. I like the artwork theme and this one looks very well. The high contrast at the back is natural and the scene of the people drawed is beautiful.

Hi Hermann

Hello Mr. Schoettler! How's Sophie? Just saw your intro pic, and then I have to ask.
Very nice carving you captured here, Hermann, it's a real masterpiece. I like to look at those kind of things, I recall one in Siena or Florence ofthe children's murder in Betghlehem, it was great and at the same time, very horrible.

I like this great detail from the cathedral. I think that there are not enough shots of architectural details here on TE, especially ones like this. The craftsmanship is wonderful. Good work!

Daniel.
